Questions we hear often.
What is the penalty for late filing of AOC-4 or MGT-7?
+
Additional fee of ₹100 per day from the date of default, with no upper cap. For companies with large backlogs, the total penalty can be substantial. An amnesty scheme (LLP/CFSS) is occasionally offered by MCA for clearing arrears.
What happens if a company misses its AGM?
+
ROC can impose a fine on the company and every officer in default. The company may also be marked as "defaulting company" on the MCA portal, affecting its ability to file other forms.
How can I check if my company's ROC filings are up to date?
+
Visit the MCA21 portal (mca.gov.in), search for your company by CIN or name, and check the "Annual Returns" and "Financial Statements" tabs for filing history.
