Frequently asked

Questions we hear often.

Is Udyam registration mandatory?

+

Udyam is not legally mandatory, but it is practically essential. Without it, you cannot claim priority sector lending rates, CGTMSE collateral-free loans, GeM (Government e-Marketplace) registration, or MSME Samadhaan delayed payment rights.

What is the MSME delayed payment protection?

+

Under Section 15 of the MSMED Act, buyers must pay MSME suppliers within the agreed period or within 45 days of acceptance. Delayed payment attracts compound interest at 3 times the RBI bank rate. MSME Samadhaan enables online filing of delayed payment complaints with the MSME Commissioner.

Does a private limited company qualify as an MSME?

+

Yes. Any business entity — proprietorship, partnership, LLP, private limited company, or public company — qualifies as an MSME if investment in plant and machinery and annual turnover are within the prescribed limits.
